If I had a scooter, I’d be willing to do it...sounds like it would be a blast!

I’m seriously thinking of doing it next year on my CT90.

I’ve never wanted a motorbike because I would kill myself on it, but scooters do really appeal to me, as lame as that is....fast enough to get where you are going, great on gas, still fun....I’d have to get my bike license first though...

Would prob get something 150cc I would think...enough to go 80-90kph comfortably as 80kph is the usual speed limit around here and the highway is 100kph, so 90kph would be doable in a pinch if I ever had to hop from exit to exit for some reason...

Get a late model CT90 or CT110 to start. It has a centrifugal clutch so there is no clutch lever, you just let off the gas and mash the peg to shift. Plus it has a transfer switch so you can switch between highway gears and trail gears. It ways nothing and can be registered with collector plates. The CT90 will do 35-40 mph, the CT110 will do 40-50 mph, depending on headwinds, overall passenger weight, and hills. It also has a flat tray on the back that’s great for strapping down cargo (firewood, beer, tool boxes, milk crates, etc).

I’ve never seen one for sale up here ever - if anything, I see things like the newer Yamaha Vinos, and older Honda and Yamaha scoots more often than anything else on Kijiji (i.e. Canadian Craigslist.......although we have Craigslist too now apparently).

They were made from the early 1960s to the mid 1980s so you can only get one used. Check craigslist. They are all over the world and are probably the highest selling model motorcycle in the world. The Australian postal service used them to deliver mail. Search for the following key words:

CT90, CT-90, Trail 90, Trail90, “CT 90", and every one of those variations substituting 110 for 90.

That’s the great thing! The group doing this is from Washington State. I’m not sure how they got their bikes down there (likely shipped them all), but by ending in their home state they can get home more easily after such a physically demanding trip.

I would love to do that but it would have to be on a Honda Elite
